Dogs on the run, Canberra
Every walk an adventure
We're currently taking a well-earned Paws. We wish all our lovely clients and friends a happy and safe Christmas. We'll be back on deck on 2 January 2018.
Dogs on the Run provides one-on-one dog walking and behaviour training services.
No matter how much you love your pooch, sometimes life gets in the way and you can’t give them all the exercise and attention they need. Work priorities, family commitments, injuries, or just taking a 'paws' … whatever your situation, we can take care of your pooch’s needs while you take care of yours. Check out About Us for more about our doggy philosophy.
What we do
We offer individual dog walking services as well as basic behaviour training. We devote each walk only to your pooch, and aim to make each walk an adventure. Check out Our Services for more information about our philosophy and how we can help you and your pooch.
Or go to our Pawtrait Gallery to see a snapshot of the fun we've had with our pooches.
We offer one-on-one dog walking services and can tailor our approach depending on your pooch's needs. This includes 'puppy visits' if you have a new pup that needs a bit of human companionship while you're at work. It's a tough job but we'll do it if we have to!

Beer & Pooches Christmas Party
Dogs on the Run held its Christmas Party last Sunday at the Capital Brewing Co. The skies cleared and the place was overrun with happy dogs and their well-fed and 'watered' humans. Read the full story on our Facebook page.
What our friends say
"I love dogs and I love Canberra so when I was asked to launch a dog walking service in Canberra run by two local women I jumped at the chance. That was a few years ago now and I have gotten to know Carolyn and Barb - the brains behind Dogs on the Run - since then and they are simply fabulous. They care deeply about their clients (both human and pooches) and they always go the extra mile when it comes to looking after the dogs in their care. Old or young, anxious or calm, friendly or solitary - Dogs on the Run caters for each dog individually. So if your dog needs a walk, or company or needs to learn to trust others or would benefit from a visit whilst you're at work - Dogs on the Run is just what you need. I cannot recommend Carolyn and Barb highly enough." Katy Gallagher
Helping foster dogs
ACT Rescue and Foster (ARF)
Visit our donation bin at the Ainslie shops. It's just outside the IGA supermarket and you can use it to donate dry food; treats; used doggy accessories (leads, collars, coats etc); towels; blankets etc. All donated goods are given to ARF to help their wonderful foster carers look after pooches that need a new family.
Every two months or so, we collect the cardboard inserts from toilet rolls, food wraps, wrapping paper etc from our clients and Facebook friends. We deliver them to the RSPCA where they're put to great use entertaining puppies and teaching them to hunt for treats hidden inside the rolls.
